ANCA World Autism Festival: A Voice for Autistics
“This is my first experience ever at the festival and I am in tears. I feel like I can be completely myself and be totally accepted. Everyone here is so kind and genuine and caring. And the stories and accomplishments touch my heart. I cannot wait to come back next year. I finally feel like I found home.” (participant at 2016 ANCA World Autism Festival)
The World Autism Festival (held in Vancouver, B.C., Canada) is like no other event around the world. Entirely created, organized, and run by autistic people, ANCA supporters and attendees hold true to the understanding that autism is gleaned from real life experience and the voice of actual autistics.
Honoring the organization’s core values of compassion, understanding, and diversity, this year, the 8th Annual World Autism Festival will be held from September 29 – October 4, 2017 (with delegates arriving on September 28). Two days of innovative presentations will be held on Monday, Oct. 2 and Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017.
The theme of the 2017 Festival is “Cultural Convergence” to highlight the importance and value of individuals from all over the world joining together in unity to educate, inspire, and connect.
Included in the workshop venue will be an interactive presentation by the founders of ANCA!
The ANCA World Autism Festival now reaches over 30 countries with an outreach of 148 countries. ANCA (Autistic Network for Community Achievement) has been providing services to autistic individuals and their families since 1995. Combined, ANCA has over 60 years of experience providing services to the autism and special abilities communities.
For the 2017 ANCA Festival, we are searching across the globe for educational presentations with a worldwide appeal to autistics and those that support individuals on the autism spectrum.
